Just thought I would share my blogging experience here ...
I started blogging in March of this year, so I am still new to it. As a UK-based graphic designer, I wanted to increase my visual presence on the internet. My business site comes up well on a Google search for my company name (lbdesign), but I wanted to make sure that my own name (as a person) also performed well on a Google search. I envisioned meeting a potential client at a party or networking event and then that potential client trying to find me the next day via a Google search. So I started blogging - under my own name on a quasi-personal site (as compared to having a blog on my business site.)
Within a few weeks of my first blog, I went from a page 4 or 5 listing on Google to consistently holding down the first listing. And whilst I have yet to convert a sale from this improved search result listing, I am finding that the traffic on my blog continues to grow. And as was your experience, I am getting a few click-throughs to my business site. (Traffic is still very small, but everyday the numbers increase by a few.)
Thanks,
Liam Dempsey

Thanks for the vote of confidence. ;) I wish I had more time to write actually, it is fun and a good way to step back and look at things - something most of us probably do not do often enough!

Hi Doug!
